In the north of Mallorca, about 10 minutes from the old town of Pollensa, in Puerto de Pollensa, is the Beach of Port de Pollensa, a blue flag beach with an extension of about 1.5 km, which meets the needs of beach lovers of all ages. Surrounding this popular beach are the Tramuntana mountains and the steep hills of Cap de Formentor, an impressive natural landscape that adds a special quality to this beach. The long expanse of sand on the beach curves around the port, with several sections dedicated to water sports, sailing, sunbathing, and swimming. It has a paved promenade and a beachfront with a row of hotels, apartment buildings, shops, and restaurants. The beach of Puerto de Pollensa is considered one of the 20 best beaches in Mallorca.
It has tiki sun loungers and umbrellas available for rent. The water is usually quite calm, of an intense blue-green color, but the north winds can make it agitated, something that attracts some surfers and sailors in search of fun.
